VYPE spoke with Hutchinson’s Chloe Inskeep to talk about her life off the track.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
In sports, I looked to better my times this coming cross-country season and become close with the new team I will be joining. I’m looking to find a new job and maybe move out.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Senior prom was a lot of fun for me this year. I got to get dressed up with friends and have a really fun last school dance. After prom was also a lot of fun being able to play a bunch of games and mess around with my classmates. It was also great to see all the hard work the after-prom committee put into putting together such a fun night.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher would have to be Mr. Koestel, my band teacher. I’ve had him the longest and he is just a really funny and really nice guy.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory would be going to state as a freshman with my teammates Stella Foster and Jenna Ramsey. We stayed in a hotel and it was my first experience ever doing anything like that. They made it such a fun experience and it was our last race all together before Jenna graduated.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me would be Stella Foster. I have been running with her for a total of 4 years am we have been the top two runners on the team every year. She always pushed me in hard workouts and was always there to talk to during long runs. She graduated a year before me so I no longer run with her but I have definitely always looked up to her.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
I really enjoy the community we have formed. Everyone is always cheering everybody on and really supportive of everyone’s success.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would pick to go to Chicago with my friends Tia and Jordan.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would spend the money on some new clothes for when I go off to college. I probably would also get dorm supplies and other things needed for moving out.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
Every year I volunteer at the salty dog triathlon. I also give blood whenever I can.
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
I am involved in Mind over Matter which is a club that focuses on mental health and managing stress in school. I am also in Briny Birds which is a club that focuses on school spirit. I think spreading awareness of mental health and how to improve it is very important.
