Class of 2025 kicker from Hutchinson High School, Taysen Runyon, has been putting in time during the offseason to perfect his kicks. Runyan has attended multiple camps such as Kohls kicking camps along with K-State, Nebraska, and Arkansas.
This year Runyon has several goals in mind that he has been working towards. One, is to work on consistency of kicks. Two, is to increase leg speed and power. Three, as a team is to fulfill potential in the weight room.
One of the things Runyon is most looking forward to this season is spending his last year with his teammates and friends. “This season I am looking forward going into my last season with a great group of guys who work their tails off every single day.” Runyon also mentioned to Vype Magazine how he is hoping to see how the team overcomes adversity this year. At some point every team faces some sort of adversity whether in practice or a game, and how a team faces it, shows a team’s true grit.
Runyon has also given a lot of credit to his teammates. “My long snapper and holder put in the time, and over the season, we saw quicker times from snap to hold and consistency through the uprights.” Without these players, Runyon would not have had 40 out of 42 extra points and gone 4 for 5 in field goals.
At the high school, Runyon also participates in FFA and FCA. Runyon is currently dual enrolled at Hutchinson Community College taking welding trade courses but aspires to play football at the colligate level.
