Hutchinson athlete Trae England told VYPE that he wants “to finish off the year by making a positive name for myself on and off the field”. England said “my favorite part of being on this team is being a captain and knowing that most of the guys look up to me. This helps me keep my head in the game and to know not to play for myself but to the guys who watch and want to do what I do.”
“Some of the best times I’ve had are being with my teammates, the best one was last year the bus rides to away games were always a good time because of the people I was around” said England.
England shared that among those people was “the teammate who left the biggest impression on me – Khamani Matallah because he would always push me to go one step farther, he also never let me put my head down, always encouraged me to be a better player”.
England also represents the Salthawks through his participation in FCA, Skills USA, and Junior and Senior leaders. Which he chose “because it keeps me busy and I enjoy being able to participate in fun activities offered by the school with other classmates”.
