Haven’s Brody Boese – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by American Family Insurance

Haven High football player Brody Boese Shared with VYPE “my favorite part about being on this team is how much we compete and prepare each day not only in the weight room, but making sure we take care of our academics too.”

“As a group, we have pretty much been playing together since we padded up in 3rd grade and we always have fun out there making sure we are taking care of each other. I remember when first started as a 2nd grader with the 3rd/4th grade team. They let me play with them because I was bigger then most of them.  I always wanted to be on the field.”

This season Boese hopes to “have 50 or more tackles on defense and make All League D line and O line and to be able to compete play for play and be out there with the guys making a difference each game and practice. I don’t think there’s any other better feeling than Friday night lights.”

Boese also represents the Wildcats outside of athletics. Telling VYPE “every year on Veterans Day, Haven goes out into the community to do clean up work and just about anything we can do to make the area better.”

“This last year, I went to the YMCA and helped clean and paint stuff around the facility. Plus, with my Hesston 4H Club we always have several projects we volunteer to work on as well, trips to the nursing home,  outdoor clean ups and planting bushes, etc. Simply donating food items to our local food banks in both Burton and Haven is my families monthly focus.”

Also stating “my favorite day of the year is Haven’s FFA Farm All Day when we prepare our school farm for visiting area grade schools for tours. We bring our farm equipment and our own farm animals to explain to the kids the importance of agriculture and farm safety.”
