Buhler Boys Soccer coach Joshua Tafolla spoke with VYPE to talk about the team that is currently 9-2.
VYPE: What are the goals of the team this season?
The goals of the team this season are to win league, regionals and make it to state.
VYPE: What was the team’s best moment from last season?
I think last years teams best moments were wining regionals and going 17-2 that season.
VYPE: Who is the team’s dynamic duo, and why?
I would have to say this season everyone is contributing to our success. We start 8 seniors and each one of them has an impact on each game we play.
VYPE: What is the team’s favorite memory together?
The best memory so far this season was when our senior goal keeper Landon Hallier blocked a penalty kick with 7 seconds left in the Hutchinson game to seal the 1-0 victory.
VYPE: What has been the biggest impression the team has made on you (the coach), and why?
The biggest impression this team has had on me is that they never quit. No matter what they fight till the end. I’ve known a lot of the seniors for a long time and they are a great group of boys. Their leadership is what drives the team.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of working with this team?
My favorite part is the players on the team, I really enjoy each one of them. They are all great kids on and off the field.
VYPE: Are you any players involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
We have many players who participate in band. We have the president of the Buhler National honor society on the team. They are also involved in numerous other clubs.
