In a recent interview with VYPE Haven cross country athlete Austin Honeycutt said “My favorite part of being on the team is just the overall team chemistry that we have. Everybody knows one another really well and they help to motivate each other every day.”
Honeycutt won three meet with his teammates during his freshman year and ran in the 4×800 relay last year. He shared “I’ve been thankful to have a lot of great teammates but if I had to pick the one that has impacted me the most I’d say Dalton Bontrager because we are always running together at practice.”
This year, Honeycutt told VYPE that he wants “to make it to state in either cross country or track. I would also like to keep doing well academically.” He also told us that he holds a 4.0 GPA.
Off the track, Honeycutt “helps out” with the schools Make a Difference day every year and participates in FCA and the Wildcat Broadcasting Club. Saying “I’m involved in FCA because I like to share my faith with other believers. I help with the Wildcat Broadcasting Club because I enjoy commentating the games and am glad to help the public enjoy the games from wherever they are. “
